    Munros

    A Munro is a mountain in Scotland with a height over 3,000 ft (914.4 m). They are named after Sir Hugh Munro, 4th Baronet (1856–1919), who produced the first list of such hills, known as Munros Tables, in 1891.

    Corbetts

    The Corbetts are peaks in Scotland that are between 2,500 and 3,000 feet (762.0 and 914.4 m),high with a relative height of at least 500 feet (152.4 m). The list was compiled in the 1920s by John Rooke Corbett, a Bristol-based climber and SMC member.

    You would be amazed at how people new to hillwalking & climbing do not appreciate the difficulties they will face in the Scottish mountains. At the base it will be calm and sunny whilst at the summit, it can be 15 degrees colder and blowing a gale.
